SI is COMEX silver. The tick is half a cent but worth $25, so a 50-cent move is $2,500 per contract — the dollar risk surprises many new traders.
Worked example. You buy 1 SI at 30 and sell at 30.5. The move is 0.5 price units, which is 100 ticks. At $25 per tick that is $2,500 per contract; trading 2 contracts doubles it to $5,000. A stop the same distance away would cost the same amount, which is why you should convert every stop into dollars before you enter.
