M2K tick value in dollars
M2K is the Russell 2000 at one-tenth of RTY. A 0.10 tick is $0.50, so a 5-point move is $25 per contract.
Worked example. You buy 1 M2K at 2200 and sell at 2205. The move is 5 price units, which is 50 ticks. At $0.50 per tick that is $25 per contract; trading 2 contracts doubles it to $50. A stop the same distance away would cost the same amount, which is why you should convert every stop into dollars before you enter.
Micro vs mini
M2K is the micro version of RTY (E-mini Russell 2000) at one-tenth the size: a tick is $0.50 instead of $5. Ten M2K contracts equal one RTY in dollar exposure, so a $250 RTY result on the same move would be $25 here.
To turn a stop distance into a contract count, use the position size calculator. Inside a prop-firm evaluation, check the result against the drawdown with the prop firm challenge calculator, and read the micro vs mini futures guide.
